How to read a label:

Some products are marketed as using CBD but are actually using hemp seed oil. What is the difference? Let’s break it down...

hemp-seed oil vs. CBD

synonyms: industrial hemp oil / hemp oil / hemp seed oil / cannabis seed oil / cannabis sativa seed oil

synonyms: CBD oil / cannabidiol / hemp oil /hemp extract / hemp extract oil / full spectrum hemp / phytocannabinoid

For those of you who REALLY want to get down with the science...

what it is:

  • oil extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant

  • similar to olive & grape seed oil

  • high in anti-oxidants, amino acids, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, Vitamin E (great for skin and hair!)

  • a great carrier for CBD, as it helps the body absorb CBD

what it isn't:

  • not CBD - it contains little to no trace of cannabinoids

  • does not have any of the therapeutic benefits of CBD

what it is:

  • oil extracted from the entire hemp plant (leaf, flowers, seed, and stalk)

  • high concentration of CBD + trace amount of THC (less than 0.3%)

  • has a host of benefits including sleep support, stress management, relief for pains, & anti-inflammatory effects

what it isn't:

  • does not cause intoxication (CBD will NOT get you high)

  • does not have the nutritional value of hemp seed oil
